CANFIELD — Farmers National Bank recently hired James Pittman as vice president, commercial banking senior relationship manager at the bank’s Orrville office.

Pittman is a graduate of The Ohio State University and has more than 23 years of experience in customer relationship management, business banking and agribusiness. He has been involved in the Orrville community through the Boys and Girls Club, United Way and Orrville Area Development Board. 

“We are thrilled to introduce James as our newest addition to Farmers,” David Benavides, market president, said in a news release. “James brings an extensive background and true passion to assisting the farming community and businesses alike. He will be a great fit to our Farmers team.”

Teacher candidates invited to job fair Thursday

CANFIELD — More than a dozen local schools and educational organizations are inviting teacher candidates to a job fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Educational Service Center of Eastern Ohio, 7320 N. Palmyra Road.

Recent and upcoming graduates in education, credentialed teachers, substitute teachers and those interested in pursuing substitute teaching opportunities are encouraged to attend the job fair to meet with recruiters and administrators.

Districts are recruiting teachers through all grade and content areas. Districts attending include:

  • Boardman Local Schools;
  • Canfield Local Schools;
  • Columbiana Exempted Village Schools;
  • Educational Service Center of Eastern Ohio;
  • Jackson-Milton Local Schools;
  • Lowellville Local Schools;
  • Mahoning Valley Regional Council of Governments;
  • Springfield Local Schools;
  • South Range Local Schools;
  • Struthers City Schools;
  • Western Reserve Local Schools;
  • Youngstown City Schools;
  • Youngstown Community Schools.

Candidates should preregister here. The day of the job fair, candidates should bring copies of their resumes and any student teaching portfolio materials.

Gloris A. Griffin Counseling Services to celebrate grand opening

BOARDMAN — Gloris A. Griffin Counseling Services LLC, 5500 Market St., Suite 106, is celebrating its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

The business, led by owner Gloris Griffin, is a Black-owned agency that offers behavioral health and substance abuse treatment to patients. It strives to provide an effective treatment program for adults who are struggling with mental health disorders, drug or alcohol addiction or co-occurring issues.

”We are a culturally sensitive agency dedicated to preserving and strengthening the family system,” Griffin said in a news release. “We assist our client to begin healing by providing evidence-based, effective interventions. Our vision is to help our clients make significant changes in their lives to better the lives of their families and community.”
