The next big launch from Mercedes-Benz India is the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC, which will be launched today at 12:30 pm (IST). The Mercedes-Benz GLS forms the basis of the world’s first ever Maybach SUV, unveiled in China at the end of 2019. The Maybach GLS 600 is clearly based on GLS, but there are some differentiators. Other than that, it helps to distinguish it from the underlying GLS.
The Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC measures 5,205 mm long, 2,030 mm wide and 1,838 mm high and has the same wheelbase of 3,135 mm as the standard GLS.
To entertain those sitting in the backseat, the “first class” version of the Maybach GLS houses two separate heavy reclining seats with built-in massage features, an electric leg rest, a refrigerator and a folding table. It has a fixed center console.
Below the hood is a 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 petrol engine combined with a 48-volt mild hybrid system. The overall output is fixed at 558 hp and 730 Nm torque.
Expect the price of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 in India to approach Rs 2 million (original showroom).
